With 12 offices and over 350 Sales Associates Coldwell Banker McMahan is consistently recognized on a national level for sales and service excellence. Since 1996, Coldwell Banker McMahan has been a recipient of the Coldwell Banker Chairman's Circle award, which is awarded to the top 1% of companies, internationally. With over 2100 transactions per year, Coldwell Banker McMahan is the number one Coldwell Banker Company in the State of Kentucky.

In 1948, Arvel McMahan and his father opened E.M. McMahan & Sons General Contractors. In 1953, they expanded to the real estate market in Oldham County. In 1972 Jerry, Arvel's son came into the family business and McMahan Co. has been growing ever since. From 1953 McMahan Co has dominated the Oldham County Real Estate and development market. In the early 80's, McMahan Co. became The Home Store to serve the Louisville real estate market.

In 1991, McMahan Company joined forces with the national strength and reputation of COLDWELL BANKER and became Coldwell Banker McMahan Co. At that time, there were three McMahan Co offices, Crestwood, Prospect and Eastern Jefferson County Kentucky.

In 1998, Coldwell Banker McMahan expanded their coverage area by joining forces with Coldwell Banker The Property Center, which covers Southern Jefferson County. In August of the same year, they joined with Coldwell Banker Manor to service the needs of clients in the eastern Kentucky markets of Lexington and Winchester. In 1999, they expanded into the southern Indiana market with a location in New Albany. They have since added offices in southeast Jefferson County, serving Jefferson and Bullitt Counties, Bardstown, serving Nelson County, and Elizabethtown, serving the Hardin County Kentucky area.

In 1999, Coldwell Banker McMahan was chosen by Cendant Mobility Services, the largest relocation firm in the world to be their representatives in the Louisville, Lexington and southern Indiana Markets.

Governor Paul Patton appointed Arvel "Jerry" McMahan Commissioner on September 23, 1999. Arvel "Jerry" McMahan, Broker/Owner Coldwell Banker McMahan is currently serving his second term on the Kentucky Real Estate Commission.
